COMPANY PROFILE

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Laboratories are an essential component of metal safety systems. They provide support to producers, i.e., manufacturing industries and end-users in self-assessment and provide technical assistance to the authorities competent for official inspections and manipulators. The quality of this service is clearly dependent on scientific know-how and equipment, but its continuity is strongly dependent on maintaining financial health and regular investment. It is therefore essential for laboratories to be able to build business plans. They have, in fact, become a business requirement. Given budget restrictions and the decrease in public subsidies, laboratories must become increasingly efficient and convince their private and public clients of their benefit in the marketplace. Furthermore, MX Engineering is in involved the manufacturing and selling of metallurgical materials, especially grinding media materials, and ferrous and non-ferrous materials. There are three (3) main corporate businesses, which are as follows:

  • Metallurgical laboratory material testing
  • Research and development
  • Manufacturing and selling

PROBLEM

High Chromium White Cast Iron (HCWCI) and High Manganese Steel (HMS) are engineering materials that are mostly used in mining industry, especially during wear-abrasion applications. HMS is normally used as primary grinding media, i.e., crushers, etc. while, HCWCI alloys are mainly used as primary, secondary and tertiary grinding media, i.e., grinding balls, mill liners, slurry pumps, etc.

Quality assurances of these grinding media materials are of paramount important, since any failure during service can cause down time, serious damage to the machine component and to property, and can have serious consequences to the machine operator. Poor quality of grinding media materials will have serious impact on plant productivity, and this will result in less plant profits, which can have an impact on the plant running optimally.

OUR SOLUTION

Our core business is mainly grinding medial materials. After receiving grinding media materials, MX Engineering engineers will conduct quality assurance testing measurements on the materials and issue material certificates that may recommend and/or approve the material application. Thus, MX Engineering engineer’s quality assurance testing and safety measures are the critical priority.

MX Engineering engineers are performing quality assurance assessments on grinding media materials before and after applications, thus giving quality and technical advice and/or assistance. In addition, Research and Development (R&D) is our top priority and is performed to keep in par with industry and worldwide standard practices on metallurgical materials. Different academic institutions, government departments, manufacturing industries, end-users, etc. will be invited to be in collaboration with MX Engineering, since this will assist to make sure that the company is always up to date with what is happening in industrial and worldwide practices.

The collaboration with different stakeholders, especially major ones will ensure that the company remains up to date with the current and improved industrial practices. All mechanical tests or measurements and/or metallurgical quality measurements methods will be performed in accordance with international standards and operating procedures, as referenced on the applicable technical activity instructions.

Lastly, manufacturing and selling of foundry casting and metallurgical materials is normally performed in collaboration with the suppliers or end-users. Thus, making sure that all important details of castings and/or metallurgical materials are taken care-off before end-user’s delivery is completed.

VALUE PROPOSITION OR BUSINESS

The first (1st) goal is to make sure that material and/or mechanical testing is available to the manufacturing industry and end-users. Thus, MX Engineering unambiguously recognizes the vital role that laboratory management systems represent in supporting business objectives and in demonstrating the competency, quality, and standard of service of our testing laboratory.

Our second (2nd) goal is to make sure that grinding media material manufacturers and end-users develop and use extremely quality materials for the processes without any failures during application or production. These quality test evaluations will assist the end-users, mining, and manufacturing industry in trying out new and developed materials. Thus, making sure that their materials of choice meet the required and expected mechanical properties.

Our third (3rd) goal is to involve academic institutions, research facilities, mining, end-users, and the metal manufacturing industry/ies to collaborate with MX Engineering for process and material development on their materials of choice and on R&D projects.

Our fourth (4th) goal is to make sure that end-user, mining, and metal manufacturing companies reduced their operational costs, reduce downtime and scrap rate, and increase profits by using highly tested quality material and new and developed materials for their material of choice.

Our fifth (5th) and last goal is related to affordable prices and delivery times. Affordable costs will be accompanied by shorter delivery time(s) that will make sure that before the material can be used in an application, all the relevant mechanical tests have been performed and a material certificate has been issued.

The final way of manufacturing and selling metallurgical materials and/or our services is via our website and/or promotions, metallurgical or industry magazine, exhibitions, conferences, etc. Our customers, industrial personnel, and/or sales engineer(s) can contact us for their quality assurance, manufacturing, selling, and distribution of metallurgical materials and technical advice through personal contacts, website, or via our metallurgical engineers in our laboratory site.

On our website, there is a contact form that makes it possible for customers to ask any questions related to our services offered and quotes. Besides these business goals, we also offer advice and process improvement on-site, by doing feasible studies on a plant, preferably metallurgical manufacturing processes, i.e., foundry manufacturing processes.

KEYS TO SUCCESS

Our keys to success lay in identifying service attributes and in production and marketing.

  • Service Attributes

MX Engineering services are guided by practical industrial and international standard operating procedures “standards”.

  • Production

The production services itself consists of approved mechanical testing equipment(s) and highly recommended quality consumables used during sectioning and testing, and evaluation processes. Highly approved consumables suppliers are the only suppliers used in our laboratories. These highly approved suppliers are contracted to us for supplying consumables. This makes our testing and mechanical testing to be inexpensive and material evaluation more affordable to our customers. Furthermore, during manufacturing of casting materials, raw material is recommended to be bought from cheaper metallurgical suppliers, especially on ferrous and manufacturing of pattern, thus making our manufacturing process to be at minimum costs.

Lastly, our metallurgical engineer(s), technician(s) and operator(s) are highly skilled and experienced in our field of work. They produce highly quality materials “castings”, metallurgical reports, articles and recommendations are from well executed work by our metallurgical personnel(s). Our laboratory test work is of high quality.

  • Marketing

We promote MX Engineering not as a crude and financial waste, but rather as a sophisticated luxurious product service that will enrich grinding media material’s quality expectation. We communicate with our corporate clients for co-marketing strategies and promotions. By doing business with us, they enhance their customer quality assurance and quality image, and earn extra profit. By partnering with us to add their own brand or logo on material’s certificates, corporate clients can use grinding media materials for promotional purposes. In chronological order as shown in Figure below, these are the most important decisions, which have to be made.
